Challenging family hike – Lac de Taney

September 29, 2019 Mountains, Personal

The initial plan was to go for a challenging solo hike to one of the summits in the area.
But then I always get these thoughts, that I could spend the day with the family and get my Kids used to hiking, being exhausted and still having fun or simply – falling in love with the mountains.

We ended up going as a whole family to Lac de Taney.

Going with Kids is as much of a challenge, as soloing a mountain. In the beginning they are grumpy, they would prefer to have fun with friends on a playground and not hike a long trail for a reason they don’t initially understand.

When you just gave up on your hyped up plan and hear nothing but complains in the beginning, it stresses the f&$# out of you.

But once you arrive to a place, that pulls your jaw down to the ground, so spectacular, that even Kids appreciate it, it’s all worth the effort.

And at the end of the day, when Kids themselves admit, the strenuous hike was a great adventure, it doesn’t get better than that.

It’s a matter of few years, that our Kids will join us for some hardcore stuff out there anyway.

This adventure goes again to Adam. 10km of an exhausting hike, +500m denivelation, 7hrs on feet.

And to my dearest wife Ali, who carried 15kg Maria on her back, so I can carry my camera…
